HOW TO READ/INTERPRET THE FORECAST MATRICES There are several forecast parameters which appear in the PFM and AFM products. These two products will be routinely issued twice a day around 4 am and 4 pm LST and updated as needed.
The matrices will display forecast weather parameters in 3, 6, and 12 hour intervals out to 7 days in the future. The AFM will display forecast matrices for each county in the Morristown forecast area. POINT FORECAST MATRICES (PFM) and AREA FORECAST MATRICES (AFM) The PFM will display point forecast matrices for the following four points: Tri-Cities airport, Knoxville airport, Oak Ridge and Chattanooga airport.
